2000 –With the help of Tim’s Alexander Technique’ teacher he learnt that walking barefoot is the best and healthiest way for your feet to be – using natural reflexes to go up on the balls of the feet. At the end of
each lesson he would put his shoes back on and walk home. It started to become obvious how restrictive his shoes were. 2001 (February) – The first Vivobarefoot prototype was created by Tim Brennan at the Royal College
of Art. 2001 (July) – Tim Brennan teams up with Galahad Clark of Terra Plana to ace the shoe world with a radical new design in footwear.
2002 –The first Vivobarefoot prototypes are made in Italy with ergonomic fit and feel. 2003 – Vivobarefoot, a brand new shoe concept is launched; a sub-brand under the Terra Plana umbrella.
2004/5 – The original Vivobarefoot are launched with a zip-on-zip-off sole. This sole replacement method and mechanism wasn’t quite perfect and a new zipless Vivobarefoot is developed.
2005 – Ajoy Sahu of Premiata and Prada fame takes over the design helm creating a new direction for TP shoes and together with Asher Clark develops new styles: adding the Aqua and Dharma.
2006 –Vivobarefoot launch ladies collection including styles Liu, Odette and Dundan. 2007 - Sales reach 20,000 pairs. Vivobarefoot are made available for sale online. A cult following starts to develop. Work with
leading podiatrists to start developing childrens line and doing research on barefoot health. Develop a new plantar support surface insole.
2008 –Vivobarefoot Off-Road Sole launched for Winter. You Walk Wrong New York Magazine article hits and sparks dramatic blog discussion on benefits of barefoot walking. Yanni Papastavrou completes marathon in
Vivobarefoot.
2009 – Aqua Design Museum publication ‘50 shoes that changed the World’. Vivobarefoot wins 'Best Shoe' by Treehugger.com. Launch of Podiatry approved Children’s Range.
