Ecodesign Dopie Terra Plana 2008
"The allure of rubber
CAMPER ANDTERRA PLANA PROPOSE TWO INTERESTING PROJECTS WHICH REINVENT THE SUMMER SANDAL THROUGH THE USE OF PLAYFUL SHAPES AND, ABOVE ALL, WITH THE HELP OF RUBBER-LIKE MATERIALS
It cannot be denied that "Crocs" have amazed everyone with their successful concept of unimaginable proportions. Others are now trying to take advantage of this moment. The consumer has noticed it and has become accustomed to the idea of wearing extremely colourful sandals with unusual shapes made from materials, even patented, that look very much like rubber. Among the most interesting products to appear recently on the market we would like to mention two which do not copy what has already been seen, but try to introduce new concepts in an attempt to invent and no imitate... The other interesting product is the unusual Dopie flip-flop, a new line from the Terra Plana brand. This line, made in collaboration with the industrial designer Matthew Harrison, represents a new sandal concept. What makes these sandals unique is that they are practically made from one single piece. They are extremely comfortable for the feet allowing them to breathe in total freedom, and the bottom made from a combination of EVA and foam rubber make them light and flexible. Basically, long live unusual and colourful sandals provided that they are actually innovative."
