Terra Plana are proud to announce that 3 of our team: Ben, Damien and Galahad completed the NYC Marathon!
Dear All,
THANK YOU to all of you that sponsored me, we raised over $3,400 for a great cause...

Two men in pink, running barefoot: Damien and Ben

Three men in pink: (from left to right) Galahad, Ben and Damien.
Team Continuum was set up by Paul Nichols a British advertising executive who was diagnosed with cancer 7 years ago. He gave up his job and dedicated every day of the rest of his life to helping people with cancer - he himself completing several marathons whilst riddled with cancer (always accompanied by his 'moved' and 'disbelieving' doctor).
Paul Nichols died in June this year and on his death bed bade his overweight friend john codling (the inspiration behind 30 of us running in the pink outfits) to run another marathon. Since that day four and a half months ago john has lost over 80 pounds and raised over $1million for Team Continuum. Part of his fund raising efforts were the sales of paintings he did of Christopher Walken (which raised over $100k) - see pictures below... (it's not too late to contribute)...

One of them bears the quote: "In the race to be better or best, miss not the joy of being."
The run was a fantastic narrative through all five boroughs: the cold damp start on staten island, the funk bands of brooklyn, the salsa of queens, the screaming masses of manhatten, the boombastic base of the bronx and the soulful jazz of harlem and then finishing again in a roaring central park... Ben Damian and I crossed the line arm in arm.
My feet feel better than the rest of me today! A testament to feet and how far we are all designed to run in them. I ran the same marathon 10 years ago in much better shape wearing fancy nike trainers. I did about the same time was exponentially more out of breath and in more pain the next day... If i'd run in fancy shoes again yesterday, I've no doubt I would have found it a lot harder and be in worse shape today.
Many people commented on my feet and seemed to know about the health benefits of barefoot running and had read the book 'Born to Run' (If you haven't read it, I encourage you to) - although they all still had their feet stuck in clumpy asics... My feet did get dirty, and I know most people can't stand that idea... Soo, the good news is that Terra Plana are releasing a barefoot running shoe next year using Vivobarefoot technology - see link below...
Thank you again and 'Free your Feet!'
Galahad
